The Shaftsbury junction, (picture yet to be inserted) is named after the local Picture house that once stood here. Follow it's link for a short walk of the area on your way to (formerly Overton Rd School)Merrydale school.

The Swings (or park, depending where you were brought up, and again picture yet to be inserted) will eventually become links to activities, pastimes, whatever they may be. And anything else that comes this way.

Welcome to my web place and I hope you enjoy the memories that have been gathered to keep an insight of what used to be. I hope that some of you will be able to help build these pages and expand on some of the forgotten parts of Leicester. Merrydale School, pictured top left. This is where I attended between the years of 1964- 1969 and my mother before me. If you follow the link you will find a few more pictures taken on a very welcoming visit a friend and I attended in Jan 2004. Members of the school were most keen on showing us around on a tour of the school, memories flooded back for both of us. 

The next picture showing is the Shaftsbury. Well, I was hoping to be helped out with this one. In the mean time follow the link for the roads we meet on our way to the School.

The swings, still today stand on triangle of the former named Victoria Rd. east and Overton Rd. Renamed Sulgrave Rd.
